Dead...Thanks Adam and Eve.

Dead...thanks Adam and Eve.

Yesterday we all got word that George Michael died.

One of too many celebrities over the past year.

Let's look back a few thousand years and see the three culprits that brought it on all of us.

Let me bring you up to speed. God created man and woman. He named them Adam and Eve, and they were in the Garden of Eden. All was well, no problems, no phone bills, no rising gas prices....just them and God and the animals....and (insert evil music theme) Satan, masquerading as a serpent.

Genesis Chapter 2 verse 15-17 15 Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

We then read in Genesis Chapter 3 verse 1-5
Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’”
Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

Keep in mind the lie..."You shall surely not die"

Fast foreword to Chapter 5 verse 5:
So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.

Man has died ever since.

It is our lot on this round rock. We are born and we die.

This past year we had some notable deaths. Lets review.
